The Ram Mandir in Ayodhya is all set for Pran Pratishtha, realising the long-held dream of millions of Hindus. As Ram Lalla returns to his home in Ayodhya, it is also the culmination of the years of dedicated work of many, who made it the mission of their lives.
Among them are Nripendra Misra and Champat Rai, two top members of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra.
Misra is a former IAS officer and Chairman of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra.
The 1967 batch IAS officer took up the role of leading the Ram Temple construction after a successful career as a bureaucrat where he held posts like chairperson of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, as the Telecom Secretary of India and the Fertilizers Secretary of India.
He was also the principal secretary to two UP chief ministers ¡ª Kalyan Singh and Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Post-retirement Mishra also served as the Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi from 2014 to 2019 and was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2021.
All throughout the Ram temple construction, and the run-up to the Pran Pratishtha, Misra has been at the forefront of holding everything together and providing regular updates about the developments.
Another person who has played an equal role is Champat Rai, the general secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
The VHP and RSS leader from Bijnor, UP began his career as a chemistry professor at Dharampur¡¯s Ashram Degree College.
As a kar sevak, Rai also took part in the demolition of the Babri Masjid on December 6, 1992.
Rai who was the chief litigant in the Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi case gained prominence as the face of the Hindu side in the dispute.
