An IndiGo passenger has claimed that he found a screw inside a sandwich that was served on a recent flight.
A Reddit user by the name of @MacaroonIll3601 posted the photos of the screw that he claims was from inside his sandwich.
"While traveling in Indigo recently on 01/02/24 from BNG to Chennai I got a screw in my sandwich," the post said.
According to @MacaroonIll3601, when he sought an apology from IndiGo, the airline allegedly told him that since the sandwich was consumed post-flight, it couldn't be found legible.
He ended the post by asking how should he approach this so IndiGo can at least respond.
The Reddit user also posted some photos of the sandwich which was inside a wrap that had the IndiGo logo.
Responding to the post, some suggested that he should take legal action against the airline.
"If they aren't responding properly. You can raise a complaint in consumer court on it! It's not a daunting process like normal courts. They might ask you to appear for a hearing to ask about your version and they should be present too. And it will be closed at max in 2 hearings," a Reddit user said.
Another user said that the passenger can also complain to FSSAI as well.
"Not just Consumer court. Can include FSSAI too for the food served if that is applicable," the user wrote.
"If you found it on board then you'd have a case but you can't pin it on them now. So, for now, accept that you're screwed. You'd be nuts to go after them because you can't nail them," another person pointed out.
Last week, an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Mumbai had to return to the Indira Gandhi International Airport soon after it took off, following complaints by some passengers about a stench inside the aircraft.
