After arresting a man from Pune on June 5, Thane district police believes it has solved a double murder case. The accused is 35-year-old Kallu Yadav, a waiter, as per a TNN report.??
The double murder took place on May 30 at Thane's Mira Road, according to police. The killings were the results of a dispute over food, the police also said.?
According to a PTI report, the bodies of the victims were recovered from the water tank of the Sabari restaurant-cum-bar at Mira Road. The victims have been identified as 42-year-old Harish Shetty and 53-year-old Naresh Pandit.?
Shetty was working as a restaurant manager, while Pandit was a cleaner. The accused Kallu Yadav was a waiter in the eatery.
"Several injury marks were found on the bodies of the victims. During the probe the police came to know that Yadav has started working as at a restaurant in Pune after committing the crime,¡± the report quoted a police official as saying.?
A police team from Pune arrested Yadav from Parvati area.?
Police said the accused confessed to killing the two men.?
"During the course of interrogation, the accused told police that he killed restaurant manager Harish Shetty for offering him bland food while he himself enjoyed a delicious meal. Yadav said he was upset by this and decided to kill the manager and the cleaner," said an official.? ?
According to Venkat Andhale, inspector of crime branch (Thane rural police), the accused attacked the duo with a spade while they were sleeping. Yadav later dumped their bodies in the water tank of the restaurant.?
Preliminary investigation by police suggests that Yadav was also involved in another murder case in Kolkata in 2013. He has also spent time in jail in connection with the murder, claim reports.
