Thane man takes Tinder date to restaurant, gets a shocking bill of Rs 44,000
A man from Thane, Maharashtra, was left shocked after receiving a bill of Rs 44,000 following dinner with his Tinder date. A social media user posted about the incident on Reddit, involving his friend. The Reddit user, Rude-Interview-8393, shared the story on the subreddit r/mumbai, attaching a photo of the restaurant bill.

As per the bill from Treebo De Grandeur in Anand Nagar, the incident happened on 12th June. The shocking amount on the bill was mostly caused by the price of the drinks they had¡ª18 Jager bombs and two Red Bulls¡ªwhich cost a subtotal of Rs 33,580, while the rest was for food and GST. According to the post, the final bill was Rs 44,829.

Many on Reddit pointed out that this was yet another case of a 'Tinder date scam' and argued that the restaurant was fully onboard. They pointed out that it was not possible for someone to have 18 shots of Jager bombs in such a short span and argued that the woman might have been served water.
Bill reduced by Rs 4,000
When a Reddit user suggested that his friend should have called the police, Rude-Interview-8393 said he did. "My friend called the police, and they only reduced the amount by Rs 4,000. Ultimately, he had to pay Rs 40,000 to the restaurant," he said.

Everything is legitimate?
When asked why he couldn't register a fraud case against the restaurant, another Reddit user pointed out that the bill was legitimate. "Because the bill is right. The girl ordered 18 Jager bomb shots (definitely the bar gave her just water because they have a deal with her) and 4 cakes. Those things on paper cost that much so you don¡¯t have any legal ground to fight back," the user said.
