Pakkirappa Hunagundi, the 30-year-old from Karnataka is suffering from Pica condition- that causes cravings for inedible stuff. Hence, the man has been gobbling up at least 3 kilos of bricks, gravel and mud every day.
At a tender age of 10, Hunagundi developed a liking for debris, basically everything that one would shun away from eating. And so, he started snacking from walls and streets and claims of no ill effects.?
This weird fondness is thoroughly described to be a form of the disorder, commonly known as Pica- an illness that gives sufferers an appetite for?substances without any nutritional value.
Perfectly healthy and fine after 20 years of such snacking,?Hunagundi has been ignoring all the suggestions related to this disorder.?
'I have been eating bricks and rocks for around 20 years now. I love eating them. It has become a part of my life." he said, as reported by DailyMail.
'I have suffered no side effects. My teeth are absolutely fine. I can bite into the hardest stone without a problem.' he added.?
His family, especially his mother has spent nearly 20 years in persuading him to give away this habit, but she failed miserably.?
¡®My mother says don¡¯t eat all this. She keeps insisting, but even if she gives me chicken fry, I don¡¯t eat it. I don¡¯t like that at all.¡¯I need mud and bricks to eat. I can¡¯t help my own habit.¡¯
But his obsession is really taking a toll on his eating habits. Upon being asked, as to how he likes this to be served, he said, it's at its best when served with a glass of water.?
'Other than bricks, mud and stones, I don't like anything else. Even if you offer me divine nectar, I won't take it. ' he said.?
