In today's online shopping horror story, a US man has revealed what happened after he placed an order on Uber Eats. According to an X user identified as Michael, the order he had placed never arrived and yet the platform repeatedly refused to refund him.
In a set of screenshots, Michael posted on X, data from the app indicated that his order was delivered by an agent named Adrian.
But according to Michael he never got his food and Adrian had stolen it. What is even more shocking is how Uber Eats customer support responded when he reported the matter.
In the conversation, Michael shared on X, the customer support agent told him that his order was not eligible for a refund.
While Michael tried to reason with the agent he was in a hurry to close the chat there was nothing else he could do and even suggested that the customer was free to contact them for any further queries.
But when Michael tried to contact customer support again, he was connected to the same agent, who closed the chat without even responding.
"Yo @UberEats @Uber_Support IĄ¯ve never seen worse customer service in my life," he wrote on X.
The post soon blew up and went viral, which Michael says forced Uber Eats to take a U-turn.
"Yo chatĄ we did it," he wrote in a follow-up tweet, confirming that he had received a full refund.
"Hi Michael, we're so sorry for this experience and understand your frustration. We want to make things right so we've issued you a full refund on your recent order. Check your in-app messages for more details," the message from Uber Eats read.
To which Michael responded saying "It's a shame it took 3 phone calls, 4 diff agents on the app, and 1 viral tweet for justice."
