Police in Hathras, UP raided a factory creating adulterated spices of local brands using donkey dung, acids and hay (bhusa). This happened on December 14 and over 300 kilos of counterfeit spices were seized. Anoop Varshney, the owner, is in custody.
Varshney is the ¡®Mandal Sah Prabhari¡¯ of Hindu Yuva Vahini, which was founded by UP CM Yogi Adityanath in 2002. The factory is in Navipur, Hathras, a report in Times Now stated.
Police discovered spices, including red chilli powder, coriander powder, spice mix (garam masala) and turmeric, mixed with donkey dung, inedible colours, acids and hay (bhusa), as per a TOI report.??
27 samples have been sent to be tested. Varshney is in judicial custody under CrPC Section 151 (arrest to prevent the commission of cognizable offences), joint magistrate Prem Prakash Meena said.
In another incident, the UPSTF busted a racket that involved selling of tatkal tickets of the Indian Railways. The main man Saddam Hussain Ansari from Basti district has been arrested.?
STF confiscated 245 train tickets, including 243 tatkal one already used. Other than that two laptops, a mobile phone and some documents were also found. When interrogated, Ansari said he was a part of the inter-state gang. The gang is active in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Bihar, Punjab, Haryana, West Bengal plus more states.
