Viral Video: In an unusual turn of events, Bahadur Singh Parihar from Uttar Pradesh found himself in a bewildering situation after receiving a fine of Rs 1,000 for driving his Audi without a helmet. The incident, which occurred in Jhansi, left Parihar scratching his head in confusion.Upon receiving a message about the fine issued by the Jhansi traffic police, Parihar sought clarification on the Parivahan website. To his astonishment, the reason for the fine indicated that he was driving a two-wheeler without a helmet, despite the vehicle in question being his Audi car.
As per an NDTV report, a closer inspection of the challan revealed that while the photograph depicted a two-wheeler, the vehicle category stated "Motor Car." Despite Parihar's attempts to resolve the matter by approaching traffic police officials,?he was informed?that?a resolution would be pursued?after the Lok Sabha elections.??
With the Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh scheduled to conclude on June 1 and vote counting slated for June 4, Parihar remains in limbo regarding the peculiar fine. In light of this situation, Parihar has taken a proactive approach to avoid further?fines?by?opting to wear?a helmet while driving his car until the matter?is resolved.

Expressing his perplexity, Parihar stated, "I was?challaned?for driving my car without wearing a helmet. If I have to drive a car wearing a helmet¡ what can I do? I will have to wear a helmet while driving." He further reiterated that the traffic police authorities had assured him that the issue would be addressed?post-elections.
This incident isn't an isolated case. In 2023, Rajesh Kumar, a Central Government officer, reported a similar experience in Haryana, where he received a challan indicating wrongful parking of a motorbike despite driving a car.?

Additionally,?earlier this year, another individual raised a similar concern with Noida Police regarding a challan issued for driving without a helmet, with the vehicle class specified as "motor car."
Instances of individuals receiving erroneous challans have been reported in previous years as well, with cases flagged to Lucknow and Noida police in 2020 and 2019, respectively. These incidents highlight the need for streamlined enforcement processes to prevent such confusion and inconvenience for motorists.
