The government is keeping under wraps every employment data after facing backlash for poor state of jobs in the country. The Labour Bureau¡¯s survey on the number of jobs created under the Micro Units Development & Refinance Agency (MUDRA) scheme will not be made public for another two months. Shockingly, this is the third report on employment that has been junked by the Modi government.
According to a report by the Indian Express, certain anomalies have been found in the methodology used by the Bureau in arriving at the findings. The data on number of jobs created under the MUDRA scheme is expected to be released after the Lok Sabha Elections.
Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) is a flagship scheme of Government of India to provide financial support to the micro enterprises sector which includes small manufacturing units, food service units and small industries.?

Last month, the NDA government junked the National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) report on unemployment and planned to use the findings of Labour Bureau¡¯s survey to highlight its achievements in job creation.
However, now that the Model Code of Conduct has kicked in, the informal decision is not to make the report public during the election period.
The NSSO report pegged unemployment at a 45-year-high of 6.1 per cent in 2017-2018 after being made public by the daily Business Standard. The government was left red-faced after these numbers were out in the public. Earlier in January, Modi claimed that his government has created ¡°crores of employment opportunities¡± across sectors in the four-and-half years. However, the report stated otherwise.

The Modi government has still not made the NSSO report public. The Labour Bureau¡¯s 6th annual employment-unemployment survey, both of which showed job losses during NDA¡¯s tenure.
Per the Labour Bureau¡¯s 6th annual employment-unemployment survey showed unemployment riding to a four-year high of 3.9 per cent in in 2016-17.
