A visit to a club in Gurugram with a friend turned out to be a nightmare for a woman after she was allegedly assaulted by four bouncers there.
Aditi Chhetri, a native of Dehradun, had reached a club near Signature Tower in Sector-30 with a friend Priyaranjan on Wednesday night.
According to the 29-year-old, it was around midnight when four bouncers, two of them women, came and abused her.
"They started abusing me without any reason and started fighting as I defended myself. During this, Megha (a bouncer) started hitting me. The male bouncers tried to strangle me and threw us out of the club. I sustained injuries to my neck, chest, and face and my T-shirt also got torn," she said.
However, according to police, the argument started after Chhetri's friend Priyaranjan began smoking.
When the bouncers objected to Priyaranjan smoking inside the club an argument broke out between the two sides.
The argument soon escalated into an assault by the bouncers who also threw the duo out of the club.
Based on the complaint filed by the woman on Thursday an FIR was registered against the bouncers for causing hurt, criminal intimidation, and common intention.
The four bouncers have been booked under sections 34 (common intention), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
According to the police, they had collected CCTV footage of the club and would arrest the suspects soon.
Meanwhile, the Gurugram District Administration has issued an advisory to restaurants, pubs, and bars in the city on the use of dry ice.
The advisory was issued after a waitress at Laforestta Caf¨¦ at Sapphire Mall in Sector 90 mistakenly served dry ice instead of mouth freshener to guests, resulting in them suffering internal injuries and hospitalisation.
District Administration has directed restaurants, pubs, and bars to train their staff in safe handling, storage, and disposal of dry ice.
