Kuldeep Yadav's recent remark about his marriage has sparked a fresh debate about a wife's duties in a typical Indian household. Kuldeep's eccentric remark which touches upon gender roles has shocked netizens with many jumping on to wave of criticism online.

Following recent victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup, Kuldeep opened up about his marriage plans in an interview with NDTV. He stressed that his future spouse won't be any actress from Bollywood, saying, “You’ll hear good news soon, but she won’t be an actress. It’s important that she can care for me and my family.”

This fiery statement by India's unorthodox has created chaos on social media with several users branding his views as outdated.

One user on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) commented, “Indian man once again can’t differentiate between the act of getting married and hiring a nurse.”

Another expressed frustration, “When God distributed men across the globe. He gave Indian women the last scrap from the bottom of the barrel. It’s 2024, our men still shades on an actress and an adult man needs to marry someone to take care of him and his family. Like everyone is uncared for until Bahu comes.”

A third user sarcastically asked, “Was his family struggling for so long even after having all that money that he needs a full-time maid wife to take care of his family???” A fourth pointed out, “And who’ll take care of her? She’s going to leave her family who brought her into this world. Won’t she need ‘taking care’ of?”

Kuldeep Yadav played a crucial role in Team India’s historic T20 World Cup 2024 victory. Upon returning to India, he had a humorous exchange with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During the team's visit to PM Modi’s residence on July 4, the Prime Minister jokingly asked Kuldeep, “How dare you made your captain dance?”

The Indian cricket team had been stranded in Barbados for three days following the T20 World Cup final. After they arrived, the triumphant squad and support staff received a warm welcome from fans at the Delhi airport and the team hotel. After resting at the ITC Maurya Hotel in Delhi, the team visited the Prime Minister’s residence for a free-wheeling conversation, marking a celebratory end to their victorious campaign.
