This is a great redemption and comeback for Bhaker, who faced heavy criticism and trolling on social media after she crashed out in the first round of her Olympic debut at the age of 19 in Tokyo 2020. While she is now being showered with praise, Bhaker seems to have not forgotten what happened three years ago.
¡°I hope the love stays. I will definitely try my best. I hope people are not disappointed or angry,¡± Bhaker told PTI.
The online hate she received also motivated Bhaker to stand up for others. Following her second bronze on Tuesday, Bhaker revealed that she had once created a fake social media account to defend Indian shuttler PV Sindhu from online trolls.
¡°This one time, I made a fake profile to defend PV Sindhu. There was some haters' comment (on PV Sindhu), and I was so triggered that I made a fake account. So I defended her on that,¡± Manu Bhaker told Sportstar.

The 22-year-old from Jhajjar, Haryana, who already has two medals to her name in Paris, has the opportunity to add one more. Bhaker will take part in the qualification event for the women¡¯s 25m pistol event, which will take place on August 2, in her bid to become the first Indian to win three Olympic medals in individual events.
¡°I feel great, really nice, and I am truly grateful for the two beauties on my neck (medals), but my journey is not over yet. I have another match to shoot, so I am focusing on that now,¡± she said.
