In a bid to express gratitude, CrowdStrike allegedly sent an email promising that "your next cup of coffee or late-night snack is on us!," according to sources and screenshots shared on X.?
The email, purportedly from Daniel Bernard, CrowdStrike's Chief Business Officer, included a $10 Uber Eats gift card as a token of thanks for the extra work following the July 19 tech crisis.
Not only was the gesture 'laughable,' as a X user points out, but it also fell flat when recipients discovered that the gift cards were invalid and displayed an error message, with some even showing as canceled.
The response on X was swift and critical, with users denouncing the offer as "800x more disrespectful than offering nothing" and expressing disbelief: "This a joke right?"

In response to TechCrunch's coverage, a CrowdStrike spokesperson clarified, "CrowdStrike did not send gift cards to customers or clients. We did send these to our teammates and partners who have been helping customers through this situation. Uber flagged it as fraud because of high usage rates."
CrowdStrike, a US-based cybersecurity firm known for its Falcon Sensor software, had recently faced a significant issue with a bug that caused widespread Windows system crashes. Despite attempts to address the problem, many systems continue to be affected.
