It was a sight that not many saw coming and could have been unimaginable some years ago. Hulk Hogan, one of the most popular professional wrestlers of not just his time but all time, getting booed by wrestling fans on his WWE return has left many shocked.
According to reports, this includes the WWE management and Hogan himself. Hogan, who was one of the several big names who made their presence felt on Raw's Netflix debut on January 6, was received by a hostile crowd of around 18,000 fans at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
The fans expressed their displeasure at seeing the wrestling legend by booing him relentlessly until The Hulkster turned back at the entrance itself.
According to Fightful Select, WWE wasn't thrilled with how the segment came off. WWE is also not happy about how the Hogan episode dominated the news headlines.
It also noted that Hogan was "surprised and disappointed" at the crowd's behaviour but ultimately "brushed it off."
It is still unclear what led to the crowd's hostile reaction to Hogan on Monday, with opinions divided between his endorsement of Trump and his real-life controversies.
But according to the Daily Mail, Hogan, who made the special appearance to promote his new beverage, Real American Beer, could return to WWE as a bad guy.
According to reports, one idea being considered is Hogan being paired with a fellow WWE legend or a modern WWE star while promoting the beer in future appearances.
