In a massive rant, Portuguese and Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo's mother has blasted the 'football mafia' for her son's 2018 Ballon d'Or loss.
Last year, Cristiano Ronaldo finished second in the race behind his former teammate Luka Modric and now his mother has reacted to the whole incident.?

According to Goal,?Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro has now suggested that her son wouldn't have suffered injustice from the football mafia if he were "Spanish or English."
She told Portuguese press: "There is a mafia. That's the right word to define it.?Yes, there is a mafia in football. If there wasn't a football mafia, my son would have more [individual] international trophies. If you see everything that happened, you will realise that it is the mafia."

She also went on to add,?"If he was Spanish or English, they would not do what they did to him.?But since he's Portuguese and from Madeira... well, this happens."
It is an astonishing claim from Ronaldo's mother and some might feel these are sour grapes. It is not the first time that Juventus forward's family has criticised the mafia we are not sure about.?
Last year, Ronaldo's sisters -?Elma and Katia Aveiro, had also taken to Instagram?to voice their anger against the Ballon d?r snub of their brother.?
Now that 2018 is well past, Cristiano Ronaldo will be looking to help Juventus win the league title and also the Champions League and get over the snub of last year.?
