Faking one's age is nothing new at the grassroot level of Indian cricket. But no one actually admits this out in the open.

Except for Virender Sehwag. He not only brought up the issue while doing commentary during the 3rd ODI between India and New Zealand in Mohali, but also tried to guess Amit Mishra's 'real' age!
The incident happened in the 44th over of the New Zealand innings when Sehwag along with VVS Laxman and Aakash Chopra were on air, in the Hindi commentary box. Laxman started this discussion while talking about 33-year old Mishra¡¯s hard work to keep himself fit.

¡°Officially 33, on paper 33 k hai, waise kitne k hai sayad Mishra hi jante honge. [On paper he is 33, it is only Mishra who knows his real age],¡± Sehwag responded wittily.
Later, after being asked by Laxman to guess his real age, Sehwag further added, ¡°Dekhiye 2 saal to lagake chaliya, minimum. To 35 saal k to Mishra ji jarur honge. [See, you should add two more years. So I feel Mishra is at least 35].¡±

He was quick to add that many people might have done it, and did not exclude himself from the group either.
Be it on Twitter, or behind the mic, Sehwag is always on the ball.
