It hasn¡¯t been even a week since Lenovo unveiled its highly anticipated business hybrid 2-in-1 in India, priced at Rs 49,990, and the company¡¯s already confirming reports that it will launch a brand new Yoga Book version in the market starting early next year.
While the current Lenovo Yoga Book available for purchase in the market runs on Microsoft¡¯s Windows 10 operating system, this upcoming Lenovo Yoga Book comes with Google¡¯s Chrome OS -- which is mainly found in thin and light laptops, known as Chromebooks.
Lenovo already sells the Yoga Book in two options already -- Windows 10 or Android. Now, a third Lenovo Yoga Book running on Chrome OS will be made available in the coming year.
This development was confirmed by none other than Lenovo's Jeff Meredith, Vice President and General Manager, Android and Chrome Computing Business Group. Meredith explains Lenovo¡¯s decision to launch the Chrome OS Yoga Book down to increasing interest in Chrome OS, both from consumers and developers, and aims to target the new machine especially to students and customers in the education business.
The Lenovo Yoga Book 2-in-1 hybrid laptop claims to be the world¡¯s thinnest 2-in-1 hybrid notebook of its kind, sporting a innovative Halo keyboard and Real Pen for input. It has a 10.1-inch full-HD IPS display, 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM, and is powered by a 2.4GHz quad-core Intel Atom x5-Z8550 processor. The Lenovo Yoga Book 2-in-1 hybrid comes with 64GB of base internal storage which is expandable via microSD card to up to 128GB.
Jeff Meredith didn¡¯t confirm the exact specifications of the incoming Lenovo Yoga Book Chrome OS edition, but did comment that all the existing features of the Windows and Android versions of the Yoga Book would work just fine on the soon-to-launch Chrome OS edition of the 2-in-1 hybrid as well.
