When Microsoft announced that it was incorporating a more advanced version of the ChatGPT AI bot into its Edge browser and Bing search, it started a new era of "search wars" - with Google quickly revealing its own version of the same, supported by an AI system called "Bard."
For now, the new Bing is mostly unavailable to a majority of users. But recently, some people on the waitlist started receiving invitations to try out the new AI features.
Naturally, people started throwing edgy stuff towards the AI to test its capabilities. What do you think might happen if Bing's AI version was asked to write a cover letter for a job? A journalist asked AI-powered Bing to write a cover better for her, but to everyone's shock, the AI outright refused to do the same.
"I'm sorry, but I cannot write a cover letter for you," Bing's new version told Huileng Tan, a Singapore-based journalist who works with Business Insider. "That would be unethical and unfair to other applicants."

Why would this be shocking, you wonder? Quite simply, if you ask the vanilla version of ChatGPT to write you a cover letter for a job, it does so without any hesitancy, as evident in screenshots below.
But its advanced version that powers Bing's AI capabilities not only refused to do so on ethical grounds, but also provided her with some tips and resources to write a cover letter.?At the end, the AI also wished her "good luck."?
