As announced earlier, the CoWin app was supposed to allow registration for people over the age of 18 years. But to no one¡¯s surprise, the app failed to work, just like it did on day one, with many reporting that the app simply crashing.
The registrations commenced either through the CoWin app on Android and iOS, Aarogya Setu or the website Cowin.gov.in. and people experienced different kinds of errors on different platforms.?

Some users on the phone app saw the error ¡®CoWin facing server issues¡¯. Some (like me) couldn¡¯t even get an OTP on the phone, with the page completely freezing for me. Eventually, the page would refresh and simply bring me back to the CoWin home page.?
Some who managed to get in with the OTP, couldn¡¯t register as the app was only allowing individuals over the age of 45 -- they hadn¡¯t lifted the age barrier for young vaccine recipients.
Some users who got to register successfully and proceed to the slot-allotment stage saw that most vaccination centres had highlighted that only people from the age of 45+ were allowed to be vaccinated at those centres.

People on Twitter clearly weren't happy with this outcome, that they couldn't use CoWin app to sign up for Covid-19 vaccine appointments despite being above 18 years of age.?
Many users however had already anticipated something like this would happen, based on their past experiences.
While there were disappointing tweets on yet another government website unable to keep up with user demand, many tried to break the tension with some humour.? ??
Something similar was experienced on the first day when CoWin commenced registrations for people over the age of 65 and people with comorbidities. However, at the time, it was expected that since it was a new attempt, some issues were bound to be there.?

However, nearly three months now and so many successful vaccinations later, this clearly isn't a good sign, especially since the nation is already struggling hard to deal with the pandemic, and the vaccine right now being the most effective way of not just keeping people safe but also eventually bringing normalcy to our lives.
