Tech majors are coming up with unique ways to help the masses during the ongoing Coronavirus outbreak. Adding its name on this list now is Microsoft, which has come up with a web portal dedicated to tracking the spread of the COVID-19 and its related developments across the globe.
Designed by Microsoft's Bing team, the website is a go-to page to have any update on the Coronavirus spread. It provides up-to-date infection statistics for every country through an interactive map that also allows users to click on any country and see the number of cases in the region and read related local articles from a variety of publishers.
Data for this is being gathered from reliable sources like the World Health Organization (WHO), the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC). Verily, a healthcare subsidiary of Google¡¯s parent arm Alphabet is responsible for running the website.
The new website by Microsoft comes just a couple of days after US President Donald Trump mentioned Google working on COVID-19-related portal for US citizens. "More than 1,700 engineers are currently working on the site," Trump said during a press briefing last week.
