With the work-from-home being the only respite for corporates to function during the pandemic, yet another tech major has now embraced the model for an indefinite time.?
Announcing a new policy for its employees, Spotify has confirmed that it will not require anyone to come to office for work anymore.
In a recent?blog post, Spotify Technology SA announced a work from anywhere policy wherein its employees will be allowed to work online from any place they wish to. Embracing the?modern working life, the company has thus foregone the office work culture altogether.
At the least, the remote working opportunity will ensure the safety of the company¡¯s employees at a time when vaccine drives could still take half a year or more to have an impact on the majority population of a region.
Spotify is not the only one to have embraced the new work culture, as several other firms, mostly tech majors, have allowed their employees to work remotely. Salesforce.com Inc and Twitter Inc, for instance, have already shifted to hybrid or permanent remote working models.
Google and Amazon have offered an option of working from home to their employees till later half of this year. Microsoft, on the other hand, has allowed its employees to choose whether they wish to come to the workplace or work remotely from anywhere permanently.
With such remote working the only way to keep daily operations running during the pandemic, it will not be a surprise if company¡¯s start benefiting from the reduced requirement of workspaces and let their employees work from home permanently going forward.
