On October 1st, 2019, a new Telecommunications Business Law will become active in Japan. This law will end carrier bundling when a seller sells smartphones to consumers. This also means that the data and device plans would be sold separately.?
So when Softbank President Ken Miyauchi was asked how SoftBank would handle this with the iPhones launching in September, he replied, "Honestly, I am wondering what should I do for 10 days," meaning that the new iPhone 11(s) will go on sale ten days before the end of September. This basically means September 20.?
While this is the date the device might go on sale, we can expect the Apple launch event to be a few days before that- probably around the first week of September around September 10 with pre-orders beginning by September 13, looking at previous trends by the Cupertino giant.?
