WhatsApp is working on an update that could bring animation to colourful heart emojis sent on the messaging platform, according to a report by WhatsApp features tipster WABetaInfo.

To the unaware, today, when you send a heart emoji to someone, the emoji animates, looking like a beating heart. This feature currently is only available for the red heart emoji. However, in case you didn¡¯t know, the emoji library has hearts in a variety of colours. These hearts didn¡¯t get the same animation treatment as the red one.?
This new update that¡¯s under development reveals that all the hearts now get the beating functionality. This too surfaces just a few days before Christmas and New Year¡¯s Eve.?
The feature was spotted on the iOS version of the app, however, we can expect the same feature to also be rolled out to Android as well as Windows versions of its app.?
This seems to be an extension of the message reactions feature that WhatsApp¡¯s beta had teased some time back. The feature, somewhat similar to reactions on Facebook Messenger, allowed users to discreetly respond to a particular message without really using their words.?

WhatsApp seems to be working on a bunch of features this week, to bring to its users in the coming updates. Yesterday we saw the app work on a new call UI that adopted design cues from newer Android 12 and iOS 13 aesthetics.?
Another variant was spotted showcasing visual indicators of end-to-end encryption on the Calls and Status page of the app, similar to that of what we see at the beginning of every chat.?
