WhatsApp has officially added the highly sought ability to edit messages to the app. Now, WhatsApp users can edit their texts for up to 15 minutes after hitting send. Prone to too many typos? Simply changed your mind? This feature will come in handy for a variety of purposes.?
To use the editing feature, users need to long-press on a sent message and then choose "Edit" from the menu. This ability will be available only for 15 minutes after a text was sent.
Once messages have been edited, WhatsApp will show "edited" alongside those texts so that it's fair game for both parties involved in the chat. Regardless, WhatsApp will not show the edit history for the same.?WhatsApp claims that messages that are edited, alongside all media and calls on the app are protected by end-to-end encryption.

The ability to edit has begun rolling out to users around the world, and will eventually be available to everyone in the coming weeks.?The ability to edit messages is an added benefit for the users of WhatsApp, who can anyway already delete sent messages. But now, instead of simply deleting them, users may opt to edit the messages.
