Windows is about to ditch a classic feature that is widely used by people to take screenshots. You guessed it - the Print Screen (or Prt Sc as it appears on your keyboard) feature is about to be booted in terms of access.
Currently, Windows users can take full-screen screenshots using the Prt Sc option. Over the last few years, there's been a switch though. Microsoft has been pushing its Snipping Tool app for screenshotting needs. It makes sense because the Snipping Tool is an effective and more versatile tool to take, edit, and save screenshots on your Windows laptop.
According to a Windows Latest report, Microsoft is thinking of swapping Print Screen key's functionality with the Snipping Tool. While this looks like a step in the right direction, the Snipping Tool needs to be tweaked to take screenshots as quickly as Print Screen does with the touch of a key.
It appears that users would still have the option to retain Print Screen or Snipping Tool functionality with the key by heading over to Settings >> Accessibility >> Keyboard, where users would be able to toggle between the two capabilities.

It's important to note that the feature change was found in Windows 11 Beta Channel, implying that this change might or might not materialise in a future Windows 11 update.
Print Screen currently lets you instantly take a screenshot of the screen and then save it to your clipboard. This screenshot may be pasted into an app like Paint and then be edited as one pleases.
