Koenigsegg is widely known for coming up with bewildering hyper cars that have left the competitors eating the dust. This time around, the Swedish car maker has outdone itself, as per its latest unveil at the Geneva Motor Show 2019
After the Agera RS enjoying the title of world¡¯s fastest car for long, Koenigsegg has now announced a successor to the hypercar and has named it ¡®Jesko¡¯. For those who have been following the trail, Koenigsegg has been hinting at the car for a while now, under the code name Ragnarok.
The remarkable feat of engineering has been dedicated to the father of company founder and CEO Christian von Koenigsegg, Jesko von Koenigsegg, and hence the name of the car had been kept largely under the veil. Jesko, now 80, attended the unveiling event along with his wife.

As for the Jesko ¡®vehicle¡¯, that is set to the grab the title of being the fastest on road vehicle ever produced, comes with a 5.0 litre twin-turbo V8 engine with 1,280 horsepower on standard gasoline. In case the owner of the vehicle decides to use E85 biofuel, the engine is able to produce a whopping 1600 horsepower.
Along with this, the Jesko gets a new nine-speed transmission that need not necessarily work in a sequential manner, meaning the driver can directly switch to the optimal gear for acceleration. This will let you go from 8th to 5th gear for that extra acceleration whenever it is needed.

Koenigsegg has not revealed the exact numbers for the top speed of the vehicle but it can be easily assumed that the car will be able to top the 450+ kmph top speed of its predecessor, the Agera RS. In fact, the company even claims that the car can break the 480 kmph record in certain scenarios.
To help with this is a double-profile rear wing for the necessary downforce. In addition, the Jesko appoints deep front splitter with active under-body flaps for increasing or decreasing the downforce as per the need. There is a lightweight carbon roof that comes off for open-air driving, while the doors have been designed to open straight up.

Jesko even provides more headroom and legroom to the driver, having a 40mm longer and 22mm taller fibre chassis than the Agera. There is also an infotainment system with a five-inch digital dashboard on the steering wheel and a nine-inch central display screen.
These small additions have also increased the utility of the Jesko in comparison with other hypercars, which usually come sans the luxury features that correspondingly add undesirable weight to a car. With climate control, power seats, USB ports, inductive phone charging, and parking sensors, the Jesko now acts as an alternative for the buyers of Buggati offerings as well.??
