Sean Diddy Combs, currently being held in Brooklyn's notorious Metropolitan Detention Center without bail, is attempting to contact potential witnesses and sway public opinion to influence jurors amid serious sex trafficking and abuse charges, prosecutors said. Combs and his legal team have desperately been trying to secure his bail before his trial in May 2025. Last week, it was reported that the music mogul has proposed a lucrative $50 million bail package after three failed attempts, with several judges citing how his release could lead to tampering with witnesses.?
During a Friday court filing, the prosecutors urged the judge to deny Diddy's latest bail request, citing his alleged efforts to manipulate witnesses and sway public opinion from jail, which included orchestrating a social media campaign to change the narrative in hi favour. They said a review of his phone calls revealed Diddy laying instructions to family members to promote marketing strategies aimed at shaping a positive public perception in his case. The matter will be heard by a federal judge this week.?
Prosecutors also claimed that the rapper has consistently violated prison rules since his arrest in September, highlighting a pattern of behaviour aimed at intimidating or silencing victims and witnesses, allegedly to influence their testimonies in his favour. Combs also persuaded his children to post a birthday tribute video, which he believed would impact the public's opinion about him, they argued.?
"The defendant has shown repeatedly - even while in custody - that he will repeatedly flout rules to improperly impact the outcome of his case," the prosecutors said. "The defendant has shown that he cannot be trusted to abide by rules or conditions."
Following three failed attempts at securing bail, Combs¡¯ legal team moved for a gag order to stop potential witnesses and their attorneys from speaking publicly. However, a federal judge rejected?his attempt to silence potential witnesses last week, saying his concerns do not outweigh an alleged victim¡¯s right to free speech.
Diddy, 55, faces allegations of sexually abusing multiple women, reportedly coerced into attending drug-fueled parties, and silenced through intimidation and violence. Since his arrest, over a dozen lawsuits have been filed against the rapper, with Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee claiming more than 100 victims are ready to uncover his sex crimes.??
