We have seen pictures of animals around the world enjoying the time when most humans are under lockdown and tourist spots and destinations are deserted.?
Taking advantage of the lack of tourists and vehicles on road, a pride of lions in South Africa¡¯s Kruger National Park came out to relax and nap on an empty tarmac road.
The road is usually busy with tourist vehicles, however the place has been quiet as the park stopped welcoming visitors from March 25 owing to South Africa¡¯s nationwide lockdown to contain COVID-19.
Sharing the images on Twitter Kruger National Park wrote, ¡®Kruger visitors that tourists do not normally see.? #SALockdown This lion pride are usually resident on Kempiana Contractual Park, an area Kruger tourists do not see.? This afternoon they were lying on the tar road just outside of Orpen Rest Camp¡¯,??
According to a ranger, it is normal for lions to choose to sleep on roads during winter as the tar retains the day¡¯s warmth, but he is worried about animals getting too comfortable on roads because of lack of vehicles because he knows that they are missing only for the time being.
Even if it is for sometime, the lions ARE getting to enjoy something different.?
