The Queen of the Night, scientifically known as the?Epiphyllum oxypetalum, is a species of cactus. Its flowers rarely bloom and when they do, it is during the night. The flowers wilt before dawn.

In the clip, two Queen of the Night flowers can be seen blooming as the evening turns into night. As morning comes, the flowers begin?to wilt.
The video was shared by user @iatemuggles with the caption, 'Time-lapse of 2 Queen Of The Night (Epiphyllum oxypetalum) blooms'.
The video has gone viral on the micro-blogging website, with over 66,000 views and 2,700 likes. People were left absolutely mesmerised with the phenomenon;?One user wrote, 'Thought it was a 3d animation at first as I thought it was outside by the stairs and it seemed massive. Second look, realized it was indoors. What a beauty!'

Epiphyllum oxypetalum?is native to Southern Mexico and to extensive areas of South America. It is widely cultivated in tropical areas of southeast Asia and has become naturalised in China.
In India, the Queen of the Night is called Iruludavare in Kannada, meaning "night lotus".?It is called Gulebakavali in Ancient Tamil.
It is believed that the wishes of people who pray to God while the Queen of the Night flower is blooming, will be fulfilled.
