The K-drama fever is real! In a bizarre incident, an American woman who travelled to Seoul hoping to meet her K-drama-style dream boyfriend was left disillusioned when her reality didn't meet her expectations.
The woman was expecting the streets of Korea to be filled with K-pop idol lookalikes; instead, she found everyday people going about their daily lives. This was something that she wasn't expecting.
The woman took to social media to share the experience, and the video has now gone viral.
In the video, the woman is seen excited as she travels to South Korea to meet her K-drama-style boyfriend.
She says in the video that she is on the way to Seoul to fall in love with a Korean man, but suddenly her enthusiasm quickly fades away as she starts recording random men on the street. She looked seemingly unimpressed by their appearances.
Additionally, the iconic Titanic music played in the background of the video, which takes a mocking turn later as she zooms in on the unexpected appearances passing by her.
Following this, at one point, she declares that 'We have been catfished. This is very disturbing.'
As soon as the video went viral, netizens shared and commented on the video. One wrote, "That is why she is single."
While another mentioned that they felt bad for the guys she recorded on the video.
Some shared screenshots from the video question, "He's not good looking?"
"Reel & real life's are different, baby; what you see on screen isn't always what happens in reality..," one user added.
While on the other hand, some viewers also found her reactions to be exaggerated, and some also slammed her for objectifying people and perpetuating unrealistic beauty standards.
