Every Apple product user would agree to wanting the latest product on the market, whether it is the phone or the watch. It is supposed to be the next big thing. However, an Australian man's life was saved by his Apple watch.?
This man named Blake Jackson had an iPhone 14, and it automatically detected the car he was travelling in had come to an abrupt stop for no reason. The new watch and his new phone were fitted with the latest technology. This technology could tell if you've been involved in a serious crash.
Both the watch and the phone have a high-g accelerometer and improved gyroscope, plus a barometer, microphone, and GPS, all working in tandem to detect sudden changes in movement.??
All the features of the phone and watch got activated after?Blake's car collided with two large truck tyres in the middle of the road in Adelaide.
Blake talked to 9News about what was going through his head when his car collided. He said: "That's gonna suck for wherever that lands. And then I'm like, oh, it's actually right in front of me now with nowhere to go. Nothing. There was nothing I could do but smash, bang into it. So I braced, not really knowing how big of an impact it was going to be or whether it was just going to bounce off and I'd keep going. I just held on and hoped for the best."
The accident was intense, leading to the airbags opening up and inflating. The accident also led to an impressive dent in Blake's car. As the man lay down injured in his car, his Apple Watch?started vibrating and asked him if he'd been in a crash. When he confirmed it with the watch, it called emergency services as well as the emergency contact in his phone.
The man also mentioned that everyone should have an updated emergency contact list so that it can come in handy when things go bad in one's life.
For all those wondering, here's how the iPhone's crash detection works.
