A Chinese man went on an amazing adventure to pay back a loan of just US$28 that he had borrowed from the police two months prior when he was broke and anxious to get home, in a touching story that has drawn attention from netizens all around the world.
His identity remains undisclosed.
The man from China?travelled between two provinces to return 200 yuan (US$28) he had borrowed from a police officer to transport himself home.
The unidentified man, whose age is also unknown, was working in the central Chinese province of Hubei two months ago when he lost his job and attempted to travel back to his birthplace in the neighbouring state of Henan.
He could no longer afford transportation because he had spent all of his money and had even sold his phone for cash.
According to Star Video, the man could not get in touch with his friends or family without his phone, so he went to the police station for assistance.
The man was given 200 yuan by a police officer with the surname Luo, along with a lunch to help him travel home.
The man insisted on leaving an IOU letter saying, "Today I am borrowing 200 yuan from a police officer at Yinji police station," as a token of his appreciation.?
I'll ask my parents for money when I go home so I can pay back the police loan.
The man was seen entering the police station with a bag of oranges in the most current video, and then he spoke with the officer seated at the front desk.
He said to the officer, "I'm here to return the money."
"What money should I return?" asked the policeman.
After the man told the officer his story, the officer went to find Luo to talk to the man.
"What brings you here?" Luo enquired.
The man answered, "I'm here to give the money back to you."
Luo turned down the man's attempt to give him the money when he took it out of his pocket.
Luo told him, "We feel happy when we help others."
The man gave Luo the oranges as he was unable to persuade Luo to accept the money.
But as he was leaving, the man secretly gave Luo the money and fled the police station.
