A 17-year-old teenager hailing from Sherman, Texas, has been crowned Miss Dallas Teen pageant along with her service dog.
This girl, identified as Alison Appleby, was diagnosed with epilepsy two years ago, but her service dog, named Brady, alerts her to any oncoming seizures and helps her by fetching her medication. So this is the reason her dog?was also called on stage along with her.
A video is surfacing that shows Alison being crowned?with a big smile and gratitude. In the footage, Alison looked stunned after she won the pageant. She can then be seen bowing down to accept a flower bouquet and a crown. Her?dog, Brady, was also crowned.
The video was shared on Twitter by the page?Goodable.?¡°Alison has epilepsy, and when she won, her service dog, Brady, was by her side the entire time. They even gave him his own tiny crown,¡± reads the caption.
The video clip has garnered over 145k views and tons and tons of comments. People loved the adorable video and showered their love. One user wrote, "Allison Appleby is a most deserving and beautiful young woman. Thank God she didn¡¯t let her epilepsy hold her back. Alison was initially informed that she couldn¡¯t participate in beauty pageants due to her condition. But she made her dreams come true with the help of her?dog, Brady. In an interaction with KTEN, Ms. Appleby said, "Something I tell a lot of people is that just because I have a chronic illness, doesn't mean I am chronically ill".
This winner will now head to Houston to compete for the Miss Texas Teen title in May next year.
