Two dedicated young girls, forced to use a fast-foodjoint's WiFi to do their homework while sitting outside, have received afunding for their education.
An online fundraiser has managed to raise more than $1,40,000 (Rs 2,990,892) for the two schoolgirlsin the US who were photographed using a fast food restaurant's free WiFi to dotheir homework.
The photograph of the girls went viral after it was shared by Instagram userMs_mamie89. It shows the two girls sitting cross-legged in the parking lot of aTaco Bell outlet in California.
They sat outside a TacoBell outlet in Salinas, California, so they couldconnect to the restaurant's WiFi and complete their homework.

¡°These 2 young girls were looking for a place with WiFi todo their school work so they sat near Taco Bell to connect to the free WiFi. Alot of us don¡¯t have to worry about having a proper WiFi connection or a quietplace to work from home. Every student from preschool through college shouldhave free access to reliable WiFi especially now,¡± the post read.
The user requested her followers to share the picture andtag their friends and relatives, so everyone could offer help to the girls.
"Our district became aware of a post that iscirculating on social media," said Richard Gebin, public relations officerfor the Salinas City Elementary School District (SCESD).

A local resident, JackieLopez, set up a?GoFundMe?page to support the girls' family and their education.Thanks to generous contributions from the local community, the fundraiser hasnow raised more than $1,40,000.
"We immediately identified the students belonging toSCESD, and since then, have provided the family with a hotspot so that ourstudents can safely access classroom instruction from home. We are aware ofconnectivity concerns and we have placed additional orders for hotspots toaddress the digital divide."
According to TheCalifornian, the two schoolgirls have since been identified as students ofSalinas City Elementary School District - one of the largest districts inMonterey County.?

After their photograph went viral on social media, districtofficials provided an Internet hotspot to their family.?
Salinas resident Jackie Lopez set up a?GoFundMe campaign?to help support the girls and the family.?In the campaign description, Lopez explained that the girls¡¯ mother is a migrant worker called Juana, an essential worker and single mother to three daughters. Lopez soon learned that Juana and her children were facing eviction from the rented room they were sharing.
