In a heartwarming gesture, an Indian techie named?Abdul Basit Khan,?served free pizza meals and samosas to 80 TSA staff members at JFK airport, during the ongoing government shutdown.?
For the uninitiated US federal staff are at home or working without pay during the political deadlock over funding for Mr Trump's proposed border wall, reports Reuters. And the TSA workers who have shown up for duty during the government shutdown are not being paid.?
Abdul Basit?Khan in the past he has been treated unfairly by the TSA, "?I used to be frequently subjected to additional checks and taken out of the queue by TSA - I assume that was because of Khan being my last name. Yesterday when I was at the JFK, I realised the staff was in a very gloomy mood and I didn't know what to say. I thought the least we can do is take care of their meals," he says in the video he recorded:
At the end of the day, as Khan says it's about being human and lending a helping hand for people in dire need. In such situations religion, caste, creed and colour fade in to the background.?
