A farmer in Karnataka who was allegedly humiliated by sales executives at a Mahindra showroom when he came to book a car, has received an apology and a new Bolero.?
Kempegowda R L, of Ramanapalya in Tumakuru district, and his friends had gone to buy a goods vehicle when a salesman?shooed him away after seemingly judging him by his appearance. Reports claim that the sales executive?thought of them as nothing more than a bunch of window-shoppers.?
According to Kempegowda, he was told, ¡°You won't even have Rs 10 in his pocket let alone Rs 10 lakh for a car."?
Before leaving the showroom, the agitated Kempegowda and his friends dared the sales executives to deliver the car "today itself" if they bring the cash. They were told to go ahead.?He took up the challenge to bring Rs 10 lakh in 30 minutes and arranged the money. The car, however, couldn't be delivered.?
Later, a video of the incident had gone viral, with many users flagging them to Anand Mahindra. The Mahindra Group had said that it will investigate the incident and take appropriate action.
Anand Mahindra, the group¡¯s chairperson, had taken to twitter and said that upholding individual dignity was among the core values of his company. ¡°Any aberration from this philosophy will be addressed with great urgency,¡± he had added.
?On January 28, Mahindra Group put out an update on the incident and apologised to the customer for how he had been treated.??
¡°As promised, we have taken appropriate measures and the matter is now resolved. We would like to thank Mr Kempegowda for choosing to be with us and welcome him into the Mahindra Family," the company tweeted.?
?The Mahindra group chairperson also had a message for the customer: ¡°And let me add my welcome to Mr. Kempegowda,¡± he said.??
