The whole country is well-aware of how the present lock down situation is affecting the poor and underprivileged in our country. Migrant workers are struggling to get home and are starving due to the unavailability of resources -?COVID-19 is the least of their worries.?
In order to help out, several NGOs and kind people have set out on their own, to help those in need and are trying to feed as many people as possible.?Now, Mahindra and Mahindra group has set up 10 kitchens in different locations to to provide food to the needy.?
In a tweet, Pawan K Goenka, Managing Director, Mahindra and Mahindra announced the good news about the company's participation in watching out for the underprivileged. In his tweet, Mr Goenka mentioned that till now, '50,000 meals and 10,000 rations' had been provided to those in need. He also added that those who want to avail the services of the kitchen and need help, can reach out to them. For that, he provided a couple of handles that people can get in touch with. He wrote that the kitchens can provide up to 10,000 meals a day.
Back in March, Mr Anand Mahindra had said?that?he wanted to help manufacture ventilators and provide temporary medical facilities for those affected by the virus. He had also stated that he will be contributing 100% of his salary to those in need.?
At a time like this, we need as many helping hands as possible, and it helps when people who have more than most do something like this.
