Amidst The 21-Day Lockdown, A Gurugram-Based Restaurant & An NGO Are Feeding People & Animals
The Robin Hood Army is a zero-funds volunteer organisation to provide food and water to migrant workers and people in the slums. A Gurugram-based restaurant called Matamaal are collaborating with the Robin Hood army to provide cooked meals to the people in need. The restaurant is also helping out stray animals who need to be fed during this stressful time.
During times of distress and chaos in the country, the government is expected to come to the rescue of those who cannot help themselves. However, while the Central and State governments are coming up with different initiatives to help the needy, kind citizens are also helping out in every way they can.
Samaritans from a Gurugram-based restaurant called 'Matamaal' are collaborating with the Robin Hood Army, which is a zero-funds volunteer organisation, to provide food and water to migrant workers and people in the slums.
By joining forces with The Robin Hood Army, Matamaal is able to provide about 500-600 cooked meals per day to the people in need.
In a video posted by freelance journalist, Aditya Raj Kaul, Hans Sadhu from Matamaal along with the Robin Hood Army can be seen in Gurugram providing food to the migrant workers who have patiently lined up, waiting for their turn while also practicing social distancing.
Kaul then moves on to have a conversation with Sadhu and asks him about the difficulties they are facing with regard to feeding the workers and homeless people. The restaurant owner mentions that even though they have essentials for the following week, they need people to donate as well. He also talks about how they are going to go from one place to another to make sure people in all neighbourhoods are properly fed.
He moves on to add that their strength is going to increase and more volunteers are going to join them soon which will make everything much more efficient.
The country is in a lockdown state which means that everything is closed and it is not just the human beings who are suffering the worst side of it. With no people around anymore, the stray dogs are starving on the roads with no one to feed them.
Indiatimes reached out to Hans Sadhu and he informed us how the restaurant is also helping out stray animals who need to be fed during this stressful time. Along with providing cooked meals to the people, the restaurant is preparing 200-300 meals for stray animals in and around the city in collaboration with Karma Animal Foundation. You can also hear him talking about the same in the video.
Aside from this, Sadhu urges people to donate essentials to the restaurant so that they can continue helping those in need. Since no one is supposed to step out of their homes, employees from Matamaal can gladly come and pick up the essentials from the people since they are well-equipped with ride passes to move around.
You can reach out to Matamaal's Instagram and Twitter pages to donate essentials for the people as well as the animals who need our help.
This world is in desperate need of more good Samaritans like Hans Sadhu and The Robin Hood Army who are dedicatedly working towards making sure that they feed as many hungry people and animals as they can.
