A California hospital executive and professor has claimed that youngsters can identify as mythology-inspired creatures and that this kind of child loves mermaids.
Diane Ehrensaft, a self-described "feminist" who advocates for a "gender revolution," is the director of mental health and chief psychologist at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital. She also teaches at the UCSF School of Medicine.
The clinical and developmental psychologist specialises in paediatric "gender-affirmative care for?transgender?and gender-expansive patients."
Ehrensaft's biography stated that she concentrates her study on how?genders?develop before puberty as well as the mental health impacts of puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, both of which are part of chemical sex changes, on children.
Ehrensaft made some controversial claims about gender ideology, including that children can identify as "gender hybrids," which include a mythology-inspired creature called a "gender Minotaur," and that children can change their genders by season and have different identities depending on where they live.
According to Britannica, a "Minotaur" is a creature from Greek?mythology?that has the body of a man and the head of a bull. "I completely agree that we are in the midst of a gender revolution, and children are leading the way."
And it's lovely to witness. "It's also humbling to know that [children] know more than we do about this topic of being gender expansive," she stated at the San Francisco Public Library in 2018.
Ehrensaft sees the transgender revolution as the next phase of the 1960s?feminist?movement, which focused on overturning gender preconceptions. "Now, we've got genders moving boulders, and it makes a lot of people nervous," she remarked.
Ehrensaft believes that transgenderism is the result of a "gender web" impacted by culture, environment, and nature.
"Each person's web will change over time as they age," according to the event description. "What Gender Are You? Don't respond until you've heard all of your alternatives. Ehrensaft wishes for you to abandon the binary?measurement scale."?
She uses terms like "non-binary," and "gender expansive." She then projected that the language would expand beyond that, citing her interaction with a 7-year-old as confirmation that "gender minotaurs" and hybrids exist.

"Language, as you know, is political." So what is acceptable today may be politically incorrect tomorrow.
So we'll just keep modifying as we go," Ehrensaft explained. "This is a whole group of kids you should all know about."
