Amid the coronavirus lockdown in the country an increased number of cases of police brutality are being reported from different parts. However, in Uttarakhand the police seems to be taking initiatives to help keep things under control during these trying times.?
While the poor in the state of Delhi are having to line up to get food from shelters, Uttarakhand police is going to different streets and handing out food to the poor. A commendable job if there ever was one.
The official handle of Uttarakhand police on Twitter has been posting how the police in the state is delivering food to the poor.?
The police has face masks on and before handing over the food they make sure that they get the hands of people sanitized.?
The police has also started a helpline for people facing any kinds of problems?during the lockdown.?
??
Not only is the police going around to help the poor and elderly on the streets they are also answering the calls of people who need medicines and cannot themselves go out to get it.?
They posted a video of one such elderly woman who called the police as she had run out of her BP medicines. The police responded and made sure to deliver the medicine to her so she did not have to go out during the lockdown.?
Apart from this the state police, like in many other places in the country, made sure that even when people go out to buy essentials they practice social distancing.
So mini ¡®laxman rekhas¡¯ were made so that people knew what distance to maintain.?
The state police is setting a good example of how to go around during lockdown and help the poor and needy while avoiding gathering of people.?
