One thing that might remain a constant in the post COVID-19 world is face masks. Masks have become the most basic symbol of social distancing and since they are here to stay, people have been coming up with cool designs to be fashionable while staying safe. Face masks are now part of the day to day attire and now Assam¡¯s woman ¡®bridal mask¡¯ is stealing internet¡¯s attention.?
Videos and pictures of a bride in Assam donning a designer, artistic face mask, matching her bridal dress are going viral.?
The marriage reportedly took place on May 22, and the images and videos show the bride and the groom to be wearing matching silk handloom face masks during the wedding ceremony.
The mask?was made of Assam¡¯s Paat silk. ¡°The idea was to leave the surgical approved protective masks for the medical staff, and encourage the population to wear more fabric-made masks with unique and creative designs,¡± Indian Express quoted Nandini Borkakati, the mask designer as saying.?
The Guwahati-based fashion and textile designer said they received the order for a pair of ¡®wedding¡¯masks for the bride and the bridegroom. ¡°We interpreted that idea and created this glamorous piece with the unique use of tassels,¡± she reportedly said. The bride¡¯s mask is apparently reusable.
A make up artist from Guwahati, Himadri Gogoi, said,? ¡°We did not expect it to go viral.?
Soon after the wedding, a TikTok video and several pictures of the couple went viral on social media ¡°We did not expect it to go viral. After we got the bride ready, I posted a video on TikTok and it got 1.3 million views within 20 hours, ¡± said Himadri Gogoi, a make-up artist from Guwahati.?
This just might create a new trend for the weddings coming ahead, where to maintain social distancing in lockdown, only 50 guests are allowed.
Realising the importance of mask and fashion at the same time, even an Italian designer came up with a unique idea for beach goers- that of trikini.
What Is A Trikini?
A Trikini is just a bikini with a matching face mask. The face mask goes with the bikini pattern, making it part of the set. The interesting part is, this now famous and successful design was created as a joke by the Italian designer.?
Tiziana Scaramuzzo, the owner of Elexa Beachwear in Senigallia, central Italy, began producing the ¡®pandemic-proof¡¯ beachwear to keep spirits up at home. This was after the Italian government announced a restriction on movement due to the coronavirus outbreak. Her idea soon went viral and she started receiving many orders for the same.
It seems like protection and fashion will be going hand in hand from now on.
