Prohibitory Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) have been imposed in 10?locations of North East Delhi as violence hit during the protests for and against new citizenship law intensified in the area on Monday.
Curfew could be imposed anytime if the situation deteriorated in the areas. Security personnel have conducted flag marches in the evening and additional forces of CRPF have been deployed.
Delhi Police have appealed to the people to maintain peace and not to believe the rumours.?
?Some of the violent incidents have been reported in east Delhi areas, particularly in Maujpur, Kardarpuri, Chand Bagh and Dayalpur.?

The deceased cop was later identified as head constable Ratan Lal. DCP of Shahdara (East Delhi) Amit Sharma currently in ICU and the condition is critical and severe head injuries. He has also got clots and bruises all over his body.
It is not clear yet that the five deceased people died of force trauma or the gunshots.?
An official confirmation will be made after the post-mortem of the people who died during the violence will be conducted. The head constable was killed in Gokulpuri while the others were brought from different places and declared dead on arrival at the GTB Hospital.?
ACP of Gokulpuri Anuj Kumar, two CRPF personnel and three firemen have been injured. Many of the journalists were manhandled and assaulted during the time of the violence.
