This forced Nick to sell the remaining 1,497 beer cans, leaving him with only three from his once-large collection. These last cans were sold to Italian merchants who made a special trip to get them.
Reflecting on the process, Nick described the emotional difficulties of letting go of the culmination of almost four decades of collecting.?

Initially, he and his wife had to extend their home to accommodate the hundreds of cans, eventually relocating to a larger Victorian home to properly display them. As they downsized, Nick sold a piece of the collection to fund his retirement and donated the remainder to Oakham Treasures in Portbury, Bristol.?
Despite leaving with his prized collection, Nick secured its legacy by selling it to collectors who will continue to treasure it.?
Now, he only keeps his top three favourite cans. Initially, Nick sold 6,000 cans from his collection for $13,500 (about Rs 14 lakh). Later, he sold 1,800 cans to beer can sellers in Italy, earning an extra $12,500 (Rs 10 lakh).?
