German Brewery Creates Powdered Beer That Can Be Consumed Like Instant Coffee

Starting your weekend right! For most working individuals, their day starts when the first sip of coffee goes down their throat. While weekdays demand a caffeine high to kick-start a hectic workday, weekends too require a bit of booze to drown out the stress of a chaotic life.

Well, a German company figured that people would love to have the best of both worlds and created a powdered version of the beer that can be made like instant coffee.

A German brewery, Neuzeller Klosterbr?ueri, has developed a powdered lager that gives you the chance to make beer as you would normally make a protein shake. All you have to do is mix water with the powder, stir, and voila, you have a tall glass of beer right at your service.

The brewery also claims that not only does the powder beer have convenience plus points, but it is also a great upgrade to beer for the environment. They say it takes fewer resources to make, like bottles and water, and is also easy to transport, unlike the usual cold glass bottles or cans of beer.

Stefan Fritsche, managing director of the brewery, addressed the sceptic beer lovers in a statement: "We¡­know that the classic pilsner drinkers and all craft beer enthusiasts, especially in Germany, will be sceptical about our product at first."

He went on to add that the new product is not just about creating a new beer but also something way bigger, "It¡¯s not just about bringing a new product onto the market, but about disrupting the beer business model."

Can This Beer Powder Get You Drunk?

For now, the brewery is only offering the non-alcoholic version of this powered beer. However, the company does plan to add several alcoholic versions to its set.

The brewery has a track record of making weird beer products. In the past, they came up with something called "anti-ageing beer" and even potato beer. Well, beer enthusiasts are surely eagerly waiting to try this on-the-go beer at least once.
