Buying a sturdy jeep from a good automobile brand, especially in the year 2022 would mean shelling out lakhs of rupees. But back in 1960, things were much cheaper than they are now.?
Industrialist Anand Mahindra did shed some light on the 'good old days' when a Mahindra jeep was much cheaper than it is now. The CEO of Mahindra Motors?shared an old print advertisement showing the price of a Willys CJ 3B Jeep at Rs 12,421. The newspaper ad was published to announce the discount of Rs 200 on the jeep.
Along with the picture, Mahindra wrote, "A good friend, whose family has been distributing our vehicles for decades fished this out from their archives. Aaah the good old days¡when prices headed in the right direction!"
Many jokingly asked if they could avail the jeep at the same cost today. Many even wished they could go back in time and buy the jeep at the price provided. Some even remembered the times when they would roam around in the jeep back in the days.?

When someone asked Mahindra to book two jeeps at the price of Rs 12,000 the industrialist had a very witty response to it. He said, "Well you could buy 10 cars for that much; except they¡¯re Thar die-cast toy collectables."
Today, the much-admired jeep costs a whopping Rs 4.5 lakh and above. The Mahindra Thar jeeps however are much costlier. These jeeps?are expensively priced between Rs 12 lakh to Rs 15 lakh.
