In a bizarre incident, a woman's newborn in Assam's Barpeta district was switched at birth due to a mix-up at the hospital three years ago. Now, reports have claimed that the mother has finally united with her son after three years since the unfortunate switch took place.?
The mother was able to unite with her son after three years following a court directive, reported ANI.
According to the report, three years ago, two pregnant women were admitted to a government-run hospital in Assam's Barpeta district where they gave birth to two babies. However, one of them was stillborn.
The report further claims that the hospital handed over the living baby to another woman instead of his real mother, Nazma Khanam. The report suggests that the mix-up was due to the similarity in the mothers' names.?

Mr Mannan further added that Khanam's family members had lodged a complaint at Barpeta police station and urged the local police to investigate the matter.
