You might have heard about the Bajaj Qute, a quadricycle that can be mistaken for a car. The Qute has characteristics of a three-wheeler as well as a car and was supposed to replace our cars for intra-city runs. While it hasn't been able to do that, it still is making a name for itself.?
The Bajaj Qute has been spotted in the trailer of an upcoming Brad Pitt-starter movie?called 'The Lost City'. The movie which also features?Sandra Bullock,?Channing Tatum?and Daniel Radcliffe,?is expected to be released in March 2022.??
You might not see Bajaj Qute on the Indian roads, but you will certainly?see it on the big screen in the theatres.?
The Qute?has been classified as a quadricycle and measures just 2,752 mm in length. It can be used for private as well as for commercial purposes.?
While it is yet to see Qute plying its trade in India, the quadricycle has been making waves in South Africa. It's one the?cheapest?four-wheeler you can buy in South Africa at?75,000 Rand or around $5,300 (Rs 3.90 lakh) with the current exchange rates.
Qute is very compact in dimensions. It can seat four people at once and can do your daily short commutes or chores quite easily. It has been designed specifically for daily city use only. Given its size,?it can go around the city very easily and can squeeze into tight spaces. So, parking will be less of an issue.
You might mistake the Bajaj Qute for a car but it's actually a "quadricycle" with a 216cc bike engine underneath the rear seats powering the rear axle.?It also differs in many ways from?Tata Nano, the most affordable car in India.? ?
The top speed of Qute is 70 kmph but you won¡¯t really be doing such kinds of speeds because in the city we barely cross 50 to 60 kmph and if you are stuck in traffic, you will be doing around 20 to 30 kmph. So, it makes sense that Qute does not need to do high speeds.
You can also get the Qute with CNG. When running on CNG, the peak output drops to 10.83 BHP and the torque is restricted to 16.1 Nm.? ??
Well, we just can't wait for Qute to make its presence felt in a move starring Brad Pritt.?
