Breakups can be ugly when one partner reacts in a not-so-cordial manner and lashes out, making it difficult for the other person to go on with their lives. That is what happened in the case of a woman in Bengaluru.?
On Tuesday, a break-up turned violent for a Bengaluru college student, after her former boyfriend threatened her and set her scooter on fire, after she called off the relationship.
The incident occurred in the Vidyaranyapura district of north Bengaluru, after the woman broke up with the man and the latter allegedly could not handle it.?
This was not an isolated event, according to a Times of India report. Since she called off the relationship, the defendant named Sanjay Murthy had been visiting the home of his former girlfriend and trying to hurt her.

The victim told the police that after her mother raised objections over their marriage, she ended her relationship with Sanjay last year.
The report also mentions that, on January 12, Sanjay came close to her house and tried to kill her and her mother. She declined to speak to him, however, and begged him to leave the place immediately, the woman in her police complaint said.?
Sanjay returned to her home earlier this week and let out his anger by vandalising the woman's vehicle. The report adds that the lady reviewed CCTV footage and saw Sanjay throwing fuel on her scooter that had charred its front section.
Strict action should be taken against the defendant for threatening and harassing the woman.?
