In an e-auction of fancy numbers conducted by the registering and licensing authority (RLA) in Chandigarh, '0001'in the new CH01CG series went under the hammer and fetched the highest bidding price of Rs 11.20 lakh.?
The RLA earned around Rs 1.43 crore from the e-auction of fancy numbers of the new CH01CG along with the re-auction of the leftover numbers of the previous series.
As per a report in Hindustan Times, in the previous auction of the CH01-CF series and leftover previous series, the RLA had collected??1.10 crore in revenue.
Another fancy number 'CHO1-CG-0005' received the second-highest bidding of Rs 5.03 lakhs, which was followed by 'CH01-CF-0009', which was auctioned for Rs 5.02 lakhs. Meanwhile, 0008 sold for Rs 2.01 lakh and 0010 for Rs 1.06 lakh, The Tribune reported.?
The RLA earned a total revenue of Rs1,43,84,000 from the e-auction of fancy numbers of the new series, CH01-CG, along with the re-auction of leftover numbers of the previous series ¡ª CH01CF, CH01CE, CH01CD, CH01CC, CH01CB, CH01CA, CH01BZ, CH01-BY, CH01-BX, CH01-BW, CH01-BV, CH01-BU, CH01-BT and CH01-BS.??
Pradhuman Singh, in-charge, RLA, was quoted by The Tribune as saying that the total revenue generated from the auction of the new series and also the leftover numbers of the old series had been the highest so far this time.??
As per the rules, the vehicles of the successful bidders have to be registered and the bidding amount must also be deposited within one month from the date of auction. The failure to do so will result in a? penalty of 10 per cent as well as interest at the rate of 10 per cent on the balance amount.?The fine and interest will be charged till the date of the payment.?
Only owners who had bought vehicles on the Chandigarh address were allowed to participate in the e-auction on Monday.
