A day after Hyderabad Police ordered social media sensation 'Kumari aunty' to close her food booth, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy urged the DGP and Urban Development Ministry to reverse their decision.?
The Raiduram traffic police in Hyderabad's Madhapur closed her stall on Tuesday to relieve traffic congestion and urged 'Kumari Aunty' to relocate it.?
'Kumari Aunty' rose to prominence on social media in the last two months, attracting enormous crowds to her roadside eatery near the ITC Kohenur crossroads in Madhapur. The stall served rice, chicken, mutton curry, and a variety of other non-vegetarian dishes.
However, after multiple complaints from commuters about traffic bottlenecks, the police intervened and ordered the shop to close.?
Kumari aunty responded to her business closure orders, stating that she had been running the booth for over 13 years. She also revealed that her husband was furious that the closure was due to media prominence.?
According to CMO officials, the Chief Minister would likely visit the eatery within the next day or two to reassure small business owners like Kumari Aunty.?
The ruling YSRCP administration in Andhra Pradesh accused opposition leader Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena party chairman Pawan Kalyan of being engaged in the closure of the food stand, sparking a political feud.?
Taking to social media site X, the YSRCP said the event occurred after the Jagan Reddy government handed over a house to Sai Kumari, the proprietor of the 'Kumari Aunty' food cart.
